feed me at his house if I ever got hungry during my shift. He loved
the towing industry, the recoveries and accidents, and any challenge
that came along with the job. He was a family man who loved his
family dearly and he leaves behind a huge family. I would hear
awesome stories about his camping trips every year and see the
pictures from his computer. In Hayward, we were a part of an awesome
family before the reorganization, we had each other's back when we
needed help. It didn't matter if it was in the middle of the night,
we'd go out and help each other with a recovery or bad accident. I
will miss Mike very much. I will miss him bringing me his computer
to fix and the lunch he would take me out for afterwards. I will
miss his smile and his sense of humor. My thoughts are with his
family. Mike will be missed by the many lives he has touched.

Randy may have been killed while trying to
confront an auto thief. That's the theory Merced police have
formulated about his death. Randy was shot to death around 10:30
p.m. Monday off Gerard Avenue. Cmdr. Floyd Higdon said Randy was an
employee at Performance Towing in Merced. One of the company's
service vehicles, a white 1989 GMC 1500 pickup, was reported stolen
at 7:43 p.m. on Monday. Police believe that Randy spotted the stolen
vehicle and confronted the thief. Higdon said witnesses reported
what appeared to be an argument between the victim and the suspect
at Ruby Court near Carmel Road, before shots rang out. "The suspect
apparently pulled out a gun and shot him." Employees at Performance
Towing described Randy as a caring father of four who had worked at
the business for nearly 10 years.

Stanley

55 years old
Schultz was killed Tuesday when he was
struck by a van while removing debris from a previous car accident
on FM 3083 in Conroe. He was taken to Conroe Regional Medical
Center, where he was pronounced dead. Patrol cars partially blocked
the eastbound lane of traffic and Schultz apparently crossed the
road into the westbound lane of traffic to pick up debris. That's
when the 2000 Chrysler van traveling east on FM 3083 hit him. The
van apparently passed to the left of the marked patrol cars and the
driver did not see Schultz in time to try to avoid hitting him.
Schultz also was not wearing a reflective safety vest as required by
state law. Alcohol did not appear to be a contributing factor, but
speed and other factors are still being investigated. The van driver
and her 10-year-old passenger were not hurt. She was released at the
scene pending the outcome of the investigation.

Klint was killed in a head on collision
while driving a AAA service truck. Witnesses said the driver of the

investigators found his Isuzu tow truck two days later parked in a

God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be.
He put his arms around you,
and whispered, "Come with Me"
With tearful eyes we watched
you suffer and gently slip away.
although we loved you dearly,
we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands put to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove
He only takes the best.
WE WILL MISS YOU |

Margo, known to most as “Margo
of Bolster’s Towing,” passed away in her home with her family by her
side after a short battle with cancer. In 1990, owner Maynard Bolster
convinced Dennis and Margo to buy him out. Margo
would go with Dennis, her husband, on long calls and help with
recoveries. Margo
enjoyed driving the tow trucks, she could back the truck and vehicle
better than any other driver, including Dennis; the shops would tease
the drivers about calling Margo if it took them more than one try to
back a vehicle into their shop.
In
1999, Margo joined Dennis at the Montana Tow Truck Association meetings
as the Mountain Towing representative.

Born :

Entered into rest :
November 30, 2007
28 years old
Smith was taking a sport utility vehicle to
Texas when he was involved in a crash in Wyoming. Smith's family members
are wondering whether he had begun suffering from diabetes and whether a
diabetic seizure occurred at the time of the accident. Before the
accident, he had been suffering from occasional dizzy spells. Smith was
an organ donor and high glucose levels were discovered in his blood when
his organs were being tested for harvesting. Smith had exited Interstate
90, about 2.5 miles from Gillette, and was driving down the exit ramp
when the vehicle veered off the road, and crashed through a right-of-way
fence and onto the premises of the Wyodak Mine. It plunged over a
100-foot wall and into a coal pit at about 1:45 p.m. Thursday. Smith was
taken to a hospital in Gillette, then to a hospital in Casper, Wyo.
There, he was pronounced dead at 9:30 a.m. Friday. He was the owner of
Hook-Up Towing and Recovery Association.

He helped many people who were locked out of their autos, needed a
battery jump, had a flat tire and needed it changed, needed fuel

went to work for Vern's Towing in Manteca, California. He passed

him and pulled the truck over so that it didn't hit and kill anyone.
He's a hero to me.

pierced through his blinds and window, shattered the windshield of the
tow truck, and lodged in the left side of the passing driver's forehead,
killing him instantly. Pugh fell out of the cab as the vehicle continued
moving down the road. The gun owner ran outside, jumped in the truck and
managed to bring the vehicle to a stop before hitting any houses.
Phoenix police said there's a good chance they'll recommend the man who

Southern freight train struck the passenger side of the tow truck about
12:40 p.m. Thursday. The accident happened in Allen Township, about 15
miles southeast of Toledo. Witnesses said that it looked like the
driver, Bob Ankenbrandt, was stopping at the tracks. The train blew it's
horn, but he just rolled across the tracks and the train smashed into
it. The impact separated the tow truck from the boat it was hauling and
pushed the truck about 75 feet from the railroad crossing into a ditch.
The boat wasn't damaged. The train crossing had no lights or crossing
arms, but there was a sign that indicated the rail road crossing.

Julian was struck by a logging truck

they say caused the accident. Julian was
kneeling to hook up a disabled Chevrolet sedan that was partially in the
left lane of Route 54 east and partially on the median. A silver
two-door vehicle was at a stop sign on Route 8002 at the intersection
with Route 54 in Valley Township. The car pulled onto Route 54 east and
then made an abrupt U-turn into the path of an eastbound logging truck,
driven by Ralph Thomas. Thomas swerved left to avoid the car but then
lost control of his vehicle and struck Julian, his tow truck and the
Chevrolet he was towing. He was
pronounced dead at the scene at 2:15 p.m., about 15 minutes after the
accident.
The silver car fled the accident scene,
and state police at Milton are searching for its driver.
